Hi.  My name is Steve Siefken and I have been teaching Physical Education for the past sixteen years.  In 1996 I completed my bachelors degree from Hope International University.  I finished my Physical Education Teaching Credential in 1997 from Cal State University of Fullerton and finally obtained my Masters in Education in 1998 from Hope International University.  Since then, I have been teaching Physical Education at Amelia Earhart Middle School.  It is at Earhart where I have had the privilege of helping to build one of the best P. E. departments around.  Please feel free to check out the P.E. program's website that I put together at www.hawkspe.org.

I can truly say that I love teaching kids the importance of a healthy and active life style.  In all my years of teaching I have learned quite a bit about successfully teaching Physical Education.

The first thing I learned is that teaching P. E. is hard.  Working all day in the hot sun trying to keep kids motivated can be exhausting.  There aren't a lot of things out there to help make a P.E. teacher's job easier.  Having a variety of popular equipment sometimes helps, but it's not always enough.  Teaching P.E. is a completely different animal than teaching in a classroom.  So, most things like grading programs and classroom expectations are completely different and don't often meet the true needs of a P.E. teacher.  That is why I've created the Trecho Physical Education Grading Program.

This grading program has been in the works throughout the course of my teaching career.  I've been developing it, adapting it, and designing it to specifically meet the needs that I've experienced as a P. E. teacher and that of my fellow colleagues.   Now, I hope to share the benefit of my experiences with you.  Please take a look at the "What is Trecho" page to see more of what Trecho can offer you.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize?

So run, that ye may obtain."  KJV (The Greek word for run is trecho).
